Combines robotics, computer programming, team-work, problem-solving and LEGO building in a fun environment. LEGO Robotics gives kids the opportunity to explore engineering, math and science. The process of creating working machines that complete useful tasks is what makes LEGO robotics so much fun!Students build the critical thinking skills that will need to be successful in any endeavor. They work in pairs to complete assigned tasks under the guidance of our robotics experts.

1. LEGO Robotics 1 (Ages 9 – 15)
Introduces students to robotics. Students create robots to do tasks while learning about the different sensors, motor controls and basic programming.

2. LEGO Robotics 2 (Ages 9 – 15)
Features more in-depth challenges that require advanced building and programming techniques. Prior robotics experience is recommended.

Students explore simple machines like levers, pulleys, gears and more through the world of LEGOs. These camps are perfect for an aspiring LEGO builder’s first experience with engineering. Students also learn to follow the scientific method.

1. Intro LEGO Engineering (Ages 7 – 9)
Students begin to build a foundation for understanding how simple machines work. We discuss the basics into why things work the way they do. Activities include a fishing rod, windmill and self-powered car!

2. Advanced LEGO Engineering (Ages 7 – 9)
The activities get much more complex and students go deeper into why certain things behave the way they do. They are better able to apply their knowledge of simple machines. Activities include a robot dog, a clock that tells almost exact time, and a dragster! It is a prerequisite to gave completed the Intro LEGO Engineering Course

Turn your video gamer into a video game maker!
What kid doesn’t want to design their own video game? Student will use Game Maker to build high quality arcade games that can access at home even after the camp is over! Kids will love being able to play their own games on their computer. No programming experience required.

Want to improve your child’s ability to problem solve and apply their math knowledge to the real world? This is the camp for you. Students will use their powers of deduction to clarify their reasoning, learn new mathematic techniques to improve their mental math skills and solve a variety of brain-teasing puzzles and games. All activities are hands-on, minds-on, engaging and age appropriate.

While they’re busy having fun, students will also be knee-deep in sharpening their creativity, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, giving them an edge in math, science, reading… and life! Student will leave each session with having acquired knowledge, applied their problem solving skills and ignited their passion!

Camps are broken into age appropriate sections. Students work alone and in teams to solve challenging problems.

1. Math Mysteries: Ages 7 – 9
For students with basic addition and subtractions skills.

2. Math Mysteries: Ages 9 – 11
For students with basic multiplication and some division skills.

3. Math Mysteries: Ages 11 – 13
For students with multi-digit multiplication and division skills.

Students will learn simple and complex pattern recognition, develop algorithms and hone data analysis skills while having fun programming games, solving problems and 3D graphics.

1. Programming with SCRATCH (Ages 9 – 13)
SCRATCH was developed at MIT and is the perfect introduction for aspiring computer programmers. Students will develop their understanding of programming constructs like loops, conditionals, and variables while creating fun animations and arcade games. No prior programming experience required. 2. Programming with Processing (Ages 9 – 15)
Processing is an open source programming language. Processing is a good introduction for students with a little programming experience. It teaches the fundamentals of computer programming within a visual contex. It can be use to make images, animations and interactions quickly and easily. Chess has been proven to enhance creativity, academic achievement in math and reading, self-esteem and a host of other qualities that every parent and teacher desires. 1. Beginner Chess (Ages 5 – 12)
Students will learn the basics of chess. No experience required.

2. Intermediate Chess (Ages 8 – 15)
Students with some experience will learn advanced concepts in a fun and competitive environment.

Will you sink or swim?
This camp is designed for young entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into a successful business. Students will develop their own service or product ideas and use market research to choose the best one. Building on this idea, they will identify their needs and create a business plan including competitive analysis, marketing plans, and financial plans. Guest speakers will provide real world lessons and guidance to our students.

On the last day, students will present their business plans just like on the hit TV show Shark Tank!

Students will learn money management techniques and the basics of stock investing. They will learn the basics behind handling credit cards and checking and savings accounts. They will also choose stocks to study, identify trends and make projections. They will also decide whether the stock price is too high or too low all while being immersed in the application of mathematics within the fascinating world of Wall Street. This camp is an excellent fit for kids who want to see real-world applications of math.

This camp is designed for two types of students:

1. Students who are going into pre-algebra next school year and want to get a jump start on the curriculum so they can enter the school year with confidence.

2. Students who are going into algebra next school year and want review major pre-algebra concepts that might have been forgotten over the long summer break before diving into algebra when school begins this fall.

Through our unique problem solving approach, your child will develop a deeper understanding of pre-algebra concepts so they can better apply what they’ve learned at school and in the real world. They will develop abstract thinking needed to be successful in algebra and higher level mathematics. The camp covers core pre-algebra concepts like adding and subtracting integers, exponents, solving single variable equations in one or two steps and order of operations that are vital to success in pre-algebra and algebra.
