Math Plus Academy offers several programs for parent organizations and schools.

Think Tank

Think Tank logoThink Tank is a family friendly event designed for students and parents to stretch their mind mathematically, think outside the box, and put their problem solving skills to the test. Families move through different mathematical challenges testing their number sense, strategical thinking and logic skills. All challenges are age-appropriate and enhance problem solving skills. Each level of the Think Tank will cover a different aspect of mathematics.

What We Provide: All the supplies, games, activities and fun! Along with Math Plus Academy staff to help setup and run the event.

What You Provide: One parent volunteer to help coordinate the logistics and send out flyers for the event to all students.

Cost: $500 – $1500 depending on size of the event.

All Day Math Assembly

We’ve created a math assembly modeled after COSI on Wheels. The assembly is designed to get students energized about mathematics and problem solving. Students from each elementary grade experience several stations of hands-on mathematical activities. This event is sure to increase student interest and motivation in mathematics.

What We Provide: Two staff members to setup and train volunteers on how to run all of the stations as well as all the supplies required.

What You Provide: Parent volunteers to help run the stations throughout the day.

Cost: $1.50 per student

Techsploration

With the world changing faster than ever, this event helps get kids engaged in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). The event gets kids energized and wondering about a world of possibilities. Techsploration is for kids from 2nd – 5th grade and their parents. Math Plus Academy instructors will guide families through three stations every 30-45 minutes: LEGO Engineering, Programming, and LEGO Robotics.

What We Provide: Qualified staff and all the supplies and equipment.

What You Provide: One volunteer to coordinate the logistics and market the event to your organization.

Cost: $20-$30 per child (We provide the online system for parents to register and pay)


Parent Seminars

We know parents have tons of questions when it come to their child’s math education like:
  • How can I help my child when Common Core math is different from how I learned math?
  • What are the best ways to help my child enjoy math?
  • How can I keep my child challenged in math?
We can tune our seminars to the needs of your families. Travis Sperry and Dr. Raj Shah have received numerous positive reviews for the information and insight they provide in these interactive seminars.

Julia Robinson Math Festival

Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival inspires students to explore the richness and beauty of mathematics through activities that encourage collaborative, creative problem- solving. This festival is designed to appeal to a broad audience, not just those who identify as math lovers already. We partner with the Ohio State University Math Department to host this event in the Spring every year.

Cost: $10 / child (families can opt-out of fees if needed).
